Nov. 11, 1024- The future of Argentina under Milei is murky and bleak. This might come as a surprise to you, a foreigner who does not live in the country, because the President has been depicting a wonderful economic and social landscape to the whole world. However, this picture is a distorted one. We, the people who inhabit the bottom of the barrel, know nothing can be farthest from grim reality we have to wade through. Javier Milei even stages a fake scene when he comes out onto the government house balcony and he waves his hand at some imaginary crowd, pretending he is loved and adored by the people. But it is the other way around. He is not popular. He and ministers and party members are hated and insulted as the video down below proves clearly.
In poor and marginal areas of every city, people talk about lynching him. "We should hang him at Plaza de Mayo." Others say: "we should cut his head with a chainsaw". In my opinion, right now Argentina is a simmering cauldron that is about to erupt like a volcano. From my point of view, the final outcome of this economic experiment might turn out to be worse than the 2022 Sri Lanka riots and revolution, when 32 politicians got killed by the uncontrolled mobs.
The problem is that Javier Milei and Luis Caputo lie to you all the time. They are good at juggling with the figures and statistics, and synthesizing an artificial economic reality that only exists in their warped minds. But whatever they tell you is always a lie. Just as in the eve of 1929 and 2008 crash in NYSE, Buenos Aires stock exchange is like a casino where the rich gamble with the interest rates, the crawling pegs, the US dollars, and the local shares and bonds. They are worthless, because it's a casino standing on a rotten structure.
